This place has the best Mexican food I’ve had in Michigan. I feel like it’s a hidden gem. The chicken and rice were moist. I highly recommend if you enjoy flavor and good atmosphere. We will be back again!!

Authentic Mexican cuisine. The tamales are excellent! Delicious salad with sliced avocado with cilantro & lime dressing. We had take out: Enchiladas, veggie quesadilla, burrito. Convenient parking, or walk from the neighborhoods nearby.

Closest thing to home since I have been in Michigan! You could literally take this restaurant and put it in west Texas no questions asked it would give local business there some real competition. If you want to know what real Mexican food should taste like hands down this is it!!

The Chela's tacos I know and love from Ann Arbor, but with margaritas! The outdoor seating option in the summer was really nice, hope that is here to stay.

Had fish tacos, kids had bean burritos. Chicken tamale was great. Worse thing was the dexter city water. Great waitress (Alexa), prompt service. Will definitely come back.

Traditional Mexican at its best! I stopped in on a hungry whim while my son was at a birthday party. I ordered a short draft Pacifico cerveza and tacos- Carnitas, Campechana, and Al Pastor. All 3 were amazing in the meat quality and flavor, but I have to go with Al Pastor as my favorite. Their Verde salsa is fantastic with just chips but I absolutely put it on my tacos as well. Moses was my bartender and his service and knowledge of the food was excellent. He recommended the Tres Leches cake when I inquired about dessert, and it was beautiful in both taste and presentation! I was just too intrigued by the existence of a strawberry tamale to leave without trying one. Delicious, just like everything else! Overall a wonderful experience that I plan to share to with family and friends in the very near future! Definitely a new favorite restaurant that I cannot recommend enough!!

Chela's has the best authentic Mexican food I have had! Choices are simple and explained well, try the Wet Burrito with Carnita's (meat type) LOADED! SO GOOD!! Also love the Enchiladas and their mild salsa!
